Boating Facilities and Migratory birds transform Patratu Dam into tourists’ hotspot

Every year, a spectacle of various migratory bird species capture the attention of visitors, offering a thrilling experience to all who come for leisure activities and boating at this iconic tourist destination in Patratu. State Forest Department officials have confirmed the arrival of numerous migratory bird species, attracting a significant influx of tourists. In the last winter, the Patratu Dam had the hundreds of winged visitors from Siberia.



Boatmen at the Patratu Lake Resort are happy by offering rides to visitors amid the avian flocks. Above 100 boats are operated by the Jharkhand Tourism Development Corporation (JTDC). A total of 680 migratory birds, comprising rare and endangered species, had arrived last winter. Some of the species included common coot, red-headed pochard, bar-headed goose among others.
