पतरातू विद्युत उत्पादन कंपनी (PVUNL)

पुराने पतरातू थर्मल पावर स्टेशन (PTPS) प्लांट को ज्वाइंट वेंचर के तहत सरकार ने 2015 में नेशनल थर्मल पावर कारपोरेशन (NTPC) को दे दिया था। जिसके बाद नए करार के अनुसार नयी कंपनी पतरातू विद्युत उत्पादन निगम लिमिटेड (PVUNL) बना।

अभी पिछले कुछ सालों से पुराने प्लांट जो कि 840 मेगावाट का था, उसको बेहतर करके नया पावर प्लांट वहां बनाया जा रहा है। यह पूरा प्लांट 4000 मेगावाट का होगा। तीन फेज में इसका काम पूरा होना है। पहला फेज का काम 2022-23 में पूरा होगा जिसमें कुल 2400 मेगावाट बिजली का उत्पादन होगा। अगर पतरातू से बिजली मिलने लगे तो बिजली क्षेत्र में झारखंड राज्य की सेंट्रल सेक्टर पर निर्भरता कम होगी। सेंट्रल सेक्टर से ली जाने वाली बिजली पावर परचेज एग्रीमेंट के तहत साढे पांच से छह रूपया प्रति यूनिट पड़ता है जबकि पतरातू से बिजली 3.25 रूपया में ही मिलेगा, जो की काफी सस्ता होगा।

परियोजना से प्राप्त 4000 मेगावाट बिजली का 85% झारखंड राज्य को आवंटित किया जाएगा।  PVUNL को बनहरडीह माइंस आवंटित किया गया है। बनहरडीह माइंस में 18 वर्ग किलोमीटर के कुल क्षेत्रफल के साथ लगभग 956 मीट्रिक टन का कोयला भंडार है।

The old Patratu Thermal Power Station (PTPS) plant was given to the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) by the government in 2015 under a joint venture.  After which the new company Patratu Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (PVUNL) was formed. For the last few years, a new power plant is being built there by improving the old plant which was of 840 MW.

The JV Company is formed to install 4000 MW coal based thermal power plant consisting of 5 units of 800 MW each which is to be implemented in two phases (Phase I: 3 x 800 MW and Phase II: 2 x 800 MW). Presently, the PVUNL is working on the Phase-I (3 x 800 MW) of Capacity addition.

When electricity starts to generate from Patratu, then the dependence of Jharkhand State on the central sector will be reduced.  Under the existing power purchase agreement, the electricity taken from the central sector costs five and a half to six rupees per unit, while the electricity from Patratu will be available only at ₹3.25, which will be much cheaper.

85% of 4000MW power from the project will be allocated to State of Jharkhand. Banhardih captive coal block has been allocated to PVUN for end use. Banhardih Coal Mine has a Reserve of about 956 MT with total area of 18 sq KM.
